Ocho Rios Visitors' Guide

Ocho Rios is the garden center of Jamaica and the lushest area is Dunn's River Falls. This spectacular waterfall, the area's top attraction, is a series of falls that cascade from the mountains to the sea. Here visitors don't just view the falls, but climb up the cascading water. The area is also home to Dolphin Cove (a very popular dolphin and shark swim program), horseback riding, numerous tours, and plantation houses.

East of Ocho Rios in the town of Oracabessa, 007 fans can visit the James Bond Beach. Located near Ian Fleming's former home, Goldeneye, the beach has plenty of options for a day of activity: waverunners, helicopter tours, and horseback rides as well as beach bar and grill. Just beyond Goldeneye near the town of Port Maria lies Firefly, the former home of Noel Coward that's now open to visitors.

Ocho Rios is especially popular with these visitors:

• cruise ship passengers. Ocho Rios is the island's busiest cruise port.
• honeymooners, brides and grooms. If you're getting married on your vacation or celebrating a recent wedding, Ocho Rios is tops thanks to its romantic setting.
• villa buffs. Ocho Rios, especially in the Discovery Bay area, is home to many top notch villas.
• soft adventure travelers. Whether you want to swim with sharks, ride a horse into the sea, buzz up a hillside on an ATV, or ride a safari jeep into the countryside, you'll find the outfitter for you here.
