Ocho Rios Visitors' Guide
Ocho Rios is the garden center of Jamaica and the lushest area is Dunn's
River Falls. This spectacular waterfall, the area's top attraction, is
a series of falls that cascade from the mountains to the sea. Here visitors
don't just view the falls, but climb up the cascading water. The area
is also home to Dolphin Cove (a very popular dolphin and shark swim program),
horseback riding, numerous tours, and plantation houses.
East of Ocho Rios in the town of Oracabessa, 007 fans can visit the James
Bond Beach. Located near Ian Fleming's former home, Goldeneye, the beach
has plenty of options for a day of activity: waverunners, helicopter tours,
and horseback rides as well as beach bar and grill. Just beyond Goldeneye
near the town of Port Maria lies Firefly, the former home of Noel Coward
that's now open to visitors.
Ocho Rios is especially popular with these visitors:
cruise ship passengers. Ocho Rios is the island's busiest
cruise port.
honeymooners, brides and grooms. If you're getting married
on your vacation or celebrating a recent wedding, Ocho Rios is tops thanks
to its romantic setting.
villa buffs. Ocho Rios, especially in the Discovery Bay
area, is home to many top notch villas.
soft adventure travelers. Whether you want to swim with
sharks, ride a horse into the sea, buzz up a hillside on an ATV, or ride
