Ocho Rios Beaches

Turtle Beach

Ocho Rios is home to several beautiful beaches. Note: Most resort beaches are private and restricted to use by guests or those who have obtained day passes.

Turtle Beach: This beach, located near the Sunset Jamaica Grande, is always busy and has a great view of the cruise ship pier.

Beach World: This small beach located at the Island Village Shopping Complex in downtown Ocho Rios is a favorite with cruise ship passengers but open to anyone for a few dollars. The beach includes lockers and changing facilities as well as a wide variety of watersports and water toys.

Dunn's River Falls Beach: This small beach is located at the foot of the famous Dunn's River Falls. The view from the beach is beautiful and you'll find a bar and grill here.

James Bond Beach: James Bond Beach, west of Ocho Rios in the town of Oracabessa in St. Mary, is near Ian Fleming’s former home, Goldeneye. It’s open daily and admission is charged. Ian Fleming used to come here for a swim. It offers plenty of opportunities for active travelers, including Stingray City Jamaica, the chance to swim in the sea with stingrays. There’s also a beach bar and grill. Admission charged.

Clothing-Optional Beaches: Guests or day pass visitors several area resorts including Couples Sans Souci and Couples Ocho Rios have access to clothing-optional beaches on-site. The Couples Ocho Rios beach is especially unusual because it is located on a small offshore island that includes a swim-up bar, a pool, hammocks and restrooms.
