Golf in Ocho Rios

Sandals Golf & Country Club

You're not going to find Jamaica's prestigious golf courses in Ocho Rios--you'll have to go to Montego Bay for those--but the area does have a couple of courses:

Sandals Golf and Country Club: Up in the hills 700 feet above sea level, the country club is home to an 18-hole, par 72 course as well as a lovely clubhouse with a restaurant and bar. Sandals and Beaches guests can play without charge (there is a fee for mandatory caddies); the resorts also offer free shuttles to the country club for their guests in the area. For non-guests, the fee in 2007 was $100 for 18 holes, or $70 for 9 holes.

Sandals Dunn’s River Villaggio Golf Resort & Spa has a pitch 'n putt course on property which is complimentarily for Sandals guests.

West of Ocho Rios: In Runaway Bay, Breezes Runaway Bay Resort & Golf Club is home to an 18-hole course that has hosted many championship events. Free for guests at Breezes Runaway Bay and Grand Lido Braco, the fee in 2007 was r$80 for nonguests. There's also a good golf academy here.
