Jamaica Now Free of Malaria

Late last year, a malaria outbreak was reported in the Kingston area; the Jamaica Information Service, the government website, is now reporting that the island is malaria free. No new cases have been identified in the last three months.

Malaria, which is a rare problem for Jamaica, was never a problem for the resort areas of the north coast.
