Considered by many to be similar to Negril decades ago, the South Coast is laid back and friendly, the perfect place for travelers who want to get out and explore Jamaica. The seas here are quiet and generally calm, devoid of watercraft activity or bustling resorts. The few guest accommodations are small, locally owned inns (the the exception of one Sandals resort). To get to the South Coast, most travelers fly into Montego Bay and then head across the island.
