Updates on Hurricane Dean

As Hurricane Dean continues on its westward path, reports are slowly starting to come in from Jamaica where power is still out. Right now, it sounds like most of the damage took place in Kingston and the South Coast, areas closest to the eye of the storm.

We'll keep you posted as we hear specifics on damage reports. In the meantime, here are some good resources for early reports:

Nationwide News Network. We listened to this AM channel out of Kingston throughout the storm; tune in as listeners across the island phone in updates and reports.

The Jamaica Gleaner's Hurricane Dean Blog. This helpful blog has photos and reports about damage.

Official Jamaica Government Website. We'll be watching this site for official word on damage.

Jamaica Tourist Board. We'll be getting updates from the tourist board and will pass them along.
