JTB and Air Jamaica Sponsoring Faith-Based Travel Event

With its high number of churches, it's no surprise that Jamaica is a favorite destination for faith-based travelers. To help promote the island to that group of potential travelers, the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) and Air Jamaica are sponsoring this year’s New York Call, an annual faith-based event created by a coalition of pastors and churches throughout the tri-state area. The event takes place in Long Island, NY from August 30 - September 1.

“Destination Jamaica has a large number of churches and faith-based institutions that will appeal to visitors interested in these types of attractions,” said Basil Smith, Jamaica’s Director of Tourism. “Based on this high level of interest, the Jamaica Tourist Board has been an active member of Religious Conference Management Association (RCMA) for more than 20 years. “This association has helped us share what we have to offer to the faith-based traveler and we look forward to participating in New York Call where we will reach out to those who are interested in booking faith-based travel trips."

Jamaica will be pointing out some of its faith-based travel options, such as the annual Fun in the Son Gospel Festival.
