Sunset Beach Resort & Spa
Montego Bay, Jamaica

JamaicaTripper Review: This 430-room resort is located on the Freeport peninsula west of town (near the cruise terminal). The property is divided into two sections: the low-rise Beach Inn and the 11-story Sunrise and Sunset Towers.

The resort has an impressive list of facilities: three beaches, multiple swimming pools and an expansive waterpark, snorkeling, Sunfish, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, paddle boats, Hobie Cats, jogging trails, beach volleyball, a fitness center and a supervised kids program. There's also a spa, although treatments are not part of the all-inclusive program.

Best of all are the beaches: three private beaches (including one that's clothing-optional.) The hotel is located on a private peninsula and looks westward, giving it one of the best sunset views in Montego Bay.

Clientele: Everybody's here: families, couples, singles and lots of groups.

Good Choice If:

you'd like a selection of several beaches at just one resort
you'd like an on-site waterpark
you're looking for an all-inclusive that's for everyone (especially useful if you've got a family reunion group or wedding)
you'd like a clothing-optional beach

Bad Choice If:

you don't want to stay in a high-rise. There is a low-rise section but the number of rooms is very limited; most accommodations are in a high rises which means an elevator ride to the beach level.
you want a quiet, intimate property...this isn't it.
