Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort
Montego Bay, Jamaica

JamaicaTripper Review: Located six miles east of Montego Bay, this all-inclusive resort has undergone many changes in the last several years. A $13 million facelift in 1995 transformed it into an all-inclusive property.

The 523 guest rooms have all received an overhaul. There is a variety of activities on offer, including watersports, tennis, volleyball, nearby golf (and even a lighted nine-hole mini golf course on site), a kids' programs and more.

Although this property welcomes everyone, it's very popular with families and it's easy to see why; kids 12 and under stay and eat free when staying with parents.

Clientele: Couples, singles, families; it is especially popular with families

Good Choice If:

you'd like to stay at a Sandals but you're watching your budget
you'd like room service but don't want to pay for a higher-tier room at one of the other Sandals properties
you'd like to be closer to downtown

Bad Choice If:

you really want to stay on the beach
you want a large number of restaurants on property (you'll still be able to hop the shuttle to dine at Sandals Montego Bay and Sandals Royal Caribbean but dining is more limited right on property.)
