Hedonism II
Negril, Jamaica

JamaicaTripper Review: Hedonism II is a unique resort. Its definitely not for everyone, but for those who like its party-around-the clock atmosphere, there's no place quite like it.

Hedonism II brings travelers from around the world who are looking for that teen-fun feeling in an adults-only version. Guests are tempted with Bacchanalian feasts, bars open until 5am, a disco that closes when the last reveler calls it quits and clothing-optional beaches. Every night is a party, and the biggest blowout occurs on Thursday.

Every Thursday afternoon, maids deliver white sheets to guest rooms, but not for the beds. They're for the guests to wear to dinner that night. No sheet, no eat is the motto of the toga party, where some guests fashion traditional modest Roman wraps, but variations abound.

You'll see women lining up at the buffet wearing topless micro-togas or men leaning against the bar sporting getups rarely seen outside a sumo wrestling ring. Hedonism's credo is that a vacation should be whatever you want it to be, and for some that means a break from the cares and even the clothes of the everyday world.

Although some form of dress is required in the dining rooms, many guests wear only sunscreen and shades on the beach. The wide, white sand beach has room for everyone. Half of the sand is designated as formal, with swimsuit required. The rest of the beach is reserved for those seeking the total tan. The nude beach has its own hot tub, bar and grill, cabanas and even volleyball and shuffleboard courts.

The beach is the focal point of the resort, and its part of seven miles of white sand for which Negril is best known. Located on 22 acres, Hedonism II offers plenty of natural beauty.

A few barefoot steps from the sea, coconut palms, flowering hibiscus and banana trees create a mood of seclusion and privacy.

After dinner, there's a nightly show organized by the resorts entertainment crew. You'll see guests and staff strut their stuff during talent night (which might include an amateur striptease), fly through the air during the circus show, or bend over backwards for the limbo contest.

Its in these after-dark hours when the hedonists really get busy. Following the nights party, guests head to a disco that flashes with a $500,000 lighting system or to the nude hot tub for late night revelry. Eventually even the party-till-you-drop crowd heads back to their rooms, which at Hedonism are comfortable (and fairly recently renovated)but not luxurious...although all include one standard featured: a mirror on the ceiling above the bed.
