Paris & John at Ian Fleming's original desk

JamaicaTripper Review: If you're looking for a property for an extra special occasion, this might just be the place! Located eight minutes from Oracabessa (15 minutes from Ochi), Goldeneye is a one-of-a-kind getaway.

We were lucky enough to spend a night in the Ian Fleming House, the actual home of writer Ian Fleming of James Bond fame. The 007 novels were all written right here; two of the writer's original desks are in the home. The rest of the house boasts primarily Indonesian decor, all in an open-air setting that looks out on a private lawn (you can dine in the sunken garden beneath almond trees), a private pool and poolhouse which serves as TV room and bar, and, just down the steps, a private beach. Bond never had it so good...

Another option are the villas at Goldeneye, cottages each with indoor and outdoor dining facilities, kitchen, private beach access and entertainment/TV room. These units are newly built and decorated with local artwork and fabrics. They're each extremely private and perfect for getting away from everything.

An excellent restaurant provides your meals, all part of the all-inclusive plan here. You'll also find watersports and a private beach.

Seeing Stars

Goldeneye has seen many celebrities. During Fleming's lifetime, the writer played host to Noel Coward, Errol Flynn and Elizabeth Taylor. Now, as part of Chris Blackwells empire, the property's stellar guest list has included Johnny Depp, Pierce Brosnan, Martha Stewart, Jim Carrey, Christy Turlington, Quincy Jones, Harry Belafonte and Naomi Campbell.
