What to do

National Gallery
12 Ocean Boulevard on the waterfront
Kingston, Jamaica

This downtown art gallery contains some real treasures. The best-known artists represented here are Edna Manley (an accomplished artist and wife of the former prime minister, Norman Manley) and Kapo (Mallica Reynolds), whose religious images have received worldwide attention.

Bob Marley buffs should look for Christopher Gonzalez's controversial statue of Bob Marley. It was slated to be displayed near the National Arena, but was placed here because many Jamaicans felt it didn't resemble Marley.
