8 ounces butter 3 pounds flour 1 1/2 pounds minced dried fruits 5 cups (2 ounces) tea 6 teaspoons baking soda 18 ounces sugar Bring tea to a boil. Cover, simmer, remove from heat. Stir in baking soda and leave to cool. Mix flour, sugar. Rub in butter until crumbly. Add soaked fruit and liquid to dry ingredients. Mix. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. |
